WebbOfgem accepts binding commitments from SSE plc Nov 10, 2016 Summary Ofgem has closed its two-year investigation into SSE after formally accepting legally binding commitments from SSE to address an alleged abuse of dominance in the electricity connections market. The energy supplier has until 3 May 2024 to implement the remedies. WebbOfgem’s role is to simulate the effects of competition. It does this by setting price controls – a ceiling on the amount we can earn from charges to use our network. Ofgem governs our operation through our transmission licence, which sets out in detail what we need to deliver in order to earn revenue. More information can be found below.
